Full Description: Events & Groups Volunteer Role:
To help staff at various events held throughout the year in and around Bolton.
Volunteers would help meet and greet carers and help serve refreshments and
introduce carers to other carers, supporting new carers to get involved.
Events can include trips and meals out as well as regular art and craft groups, yoga
classes, walking groups, hubs and well- being groups.
Purpose of the role:
To help events run smoothly and make sure everyone feels welcomed and supported.
To offer a friendly smile and a helping hand.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
To provide assistance at Bolton Carers outings and events. To act as a ‘buddy’ for lone
carers attending events/outings. To assist in providing refreshments for carers/setting
up rooms and clearing rooms etc.
To raise awareness about Bolton Carers Support within your own network of family
friends and local community.
To promote and comply with Bolton Carers Support policies, including confidentiality.
To carry out any other related tasks.
Skills & Qualities Needed:
For this role you will need to have excellent listening skills, excellent communication
skills, an ability to work on your own initiative. And enjoy meeting people face to face.
When & Where:
Various sites in and around Bolton (although some trips out may be outside Bolton).
Some set days will be available, and some events will be as and when arranged
throughout the year
