Full Description: We are looking for volunteers to support people who attend our Life Opportunities service in Horwich, with gathering pictures, written stories, and memories through creative and crafty collage work.
Working alongside people to plan their book, arrange pictures and other items in a scrapbook style may include:
• Cutting out
• Gluing
• Helping to print photographs (on provided equipment)
• Arranging and assembling collage work
• Writing out captions to tell a story
An interest in crafting and creative artwork would be an asset for this role. We ask that volunteers offer empathy, patience and support when working with vulnerable adults, communicate effectively and bring a calm, understanding manner to the role. By bringing your own skill set and life experiences, you will also greatly enhance the experience of those who attend our centres.
We are looking for 1-2 hours on a Monday and/or Friday morning(s), based at:
Brazley Centre, Cedar Avenue, Horwich BL6 6HT
A risk assessment will be carried out for all activities and full instructions and equipment will be provided to carry out this role.
We hope this role provides a fulfilling opportunity to contribute to adult social care, whilst offering a range of benefits including a social boost, connection into the community, wellbeing through the activities, and an opportunity to gain valuable experience. Further details can be provided on request. We are always available for an informal chat and will provide a full role outline and volunteer agreement on appointment.
