Organisation Description: Muhammadiyah House of Wisdom (MHOW) is a registered charity established to improve the wellbeing, opportunities and life chances of people living in Bolton and surrounding communities.
We are developing the Bolton Education and Community Centre, a new community hub that will provide educational, social, wellbeing and care services for people of all ages. Our planned activities include youth development programmes, mentoring, digital learning, family support, community events, volunteering opportunities, day care and social activities for older people, and initiatives that promote health, inclusion and community cohesion.
The centre is rooted in values of service, learning and compassion and aims to create a welcoming environment where people from all backgrounds can access support, develop new skills, maintain independence and build positive connections within their community.
The Bolton Education and Community Centre will offer a range of facilities designed to support learning, wellbeing and community engagement. These will include flexible learning and training spaces, meeting and activity rooms, a community café and kitchen, dedicated areas for youth and family activities, wellbeing and counselling spaces, facilities for older people's day services, outdoor community growing areas and gardens, and technology-enabled learning resources, including immersive educational experiences.
MHOW aims to work in partnership with local organisations, community groups and volunteers to address social disadvantage, reduce isolation and improve wellbeing across generations. Through education, engagement, community-led activity and support for older people, we seek to strengthen communities and contribute positively to the social and economic wellbeing of Bolton.
The Bolton Education and Community Centre will provide a safe and accessible space where children, young people, families and older residents can learn, connect, participate and thrive.
