Organisation Description: CFUF Pathway CIC is a Community Interest Company registered in March 2026, operating from Nelson Mill, Gaskell Street, Bolton, BL1 2QE. We launch on 1 September 2026.
We are the community arm of CFUF Strength and Fitness (CrossFit UF Ltd, trading in Bolton since 2015 and voted Bolton's Best Gym 2026). While the gym operates as a commercial business, CFUF Pathway CIC exists to widen access to strength and fitness for people who would not otherwise have it.
Our mission is to remove barriers to physical activity across Bolton, using coached strength and conditioning to improve physical and mental health. We deliver four free, fully-coached sessions per week, with two qualified coaches per session, targeting groups who face the greatest barriers to participation: young people, women who have been the victim of abuse, older adults and men's health and wellbeing. We aim to reach 416 unique beneficiaries each year.
The CIC is led by Director and Head Coach Mark Parkinson, who holds a Level 3 Personal Training qualification with specialist expertise in Olympic lifting and strength and conditioning, supported by a board of directors and a designated safeguarding officer. We work in partnership with local community organisations including Andy's Man Club, Dad Matters, Manbassadors and Blessing in Disguise.
As a CIC, any surplus we generate is reinvested directly into our community programmes rather than distributed for private profit.
