Organisation Description: The Bereavement Café CIC is a community based organisation supporting people affected by bereavement, loss and life change, with a focus on mental wellbeing, early intervention and prevention. We provide accessible, non clinical support for individuals experiencing anxiety, low mood, isolation and overwhelm, often linked to unrecognised grief and secondary losses.
Our core offer includes Bereavement Cafés, group wellbeing sessions and community based activities that create safe, welcoming spaces for people to connect, feel understood and regain confidence. We currently support over 100 people each month through our group sessions and wider community engagement.
Our approach is informed by lived experience, learning and listening. We recognise that grief affects people in different ways and often presents as mental health difficulties rather than being named as grief. Our work focuses on normalising these experiences, reducing stigma and helping people understand what is happening to them, alongside offering practical coping tools and gentle wellbeing support.
