Organisation Description: We are a local sailing club open to the whole community based at Delph reservoir on the outskirts of Bolton.
Our fees are inexpensive and we train all members to sail from scratch at no extra cost.
We are a volunteer organisation with no paid staff and yet every year we train over 50 people in sailing, powerboat driving and first aid.
Our official training for kids starts at 8 but many children, including my own start around age 5. Our oldest participants are still regularly sailing well into their 80s!
It is a non elitist egalitarian pursuit were all sexes and ages sail and race against each other.
We have become a victim of our own success though and we need to raise funds to but new double handed training boats for our cadet fleet and to build a sailing inspired imaginarium play area to inspire the toddlers and young children to follow in their older siblings foot steps.
