Organisation Description: Khulisa (meaning “to nurture” in Zulu) is an award-winning national charity supporting marginalised young people aged 11–18 who have experienced trauma, adversity, and exclusion. We work in some of the most deprived communities in London and Manchester, delivering intensive, therapeutic programmes led by skilled, therapeutically trained practitioners. Using creative techniques like art and drama, we create safe spaces where young people build emotional regulation, confidence, and social skills. Our evidence-based approach significantly improves wellbeing and engagement in education. We also train educators and caregivers to create trauma-informed environments, ensuring every young person feels safe, seen, and supported.
